The hard part is not deciding what to see, but where to start

Aínsa, in the heart of the Sobrarbe, is an ideal starting point for discovering a land full of landscapes, villages, traditions and experiences.

Nature

The Sobrarbe is a land of great valleys, high mountains, lush forests and rivers, where nature takes centre stage.

Its peaks and valleys are home to emblematic species such as the bearded vulture, the Pyrenean chamois, the capercaillie, the golden eagle and the marmot, while the beech and fir forests, the alpine meadows and the high pastures make up some of the most characteristic landscapes of the Pyrenees.

Its four great sectors —Ordesa, Añisclo, Escuaín and Pineta— offer very different landscapes, with spectacular gorges and waterfalls.

Nature to enjoy

The Sobrarbe-Pirineos Geopark: a place where millions of years of geological history are revealed through routes, landscapes and places of interest.

The bearded vulture is one of the great symbols of Pyrenean wildlife. The Sobrarbe also offers opportunities for birdwatching and holds the Starlight Tourist Destination certification, a recognition of the quality of its skies for astronomical observation.

Not forgetting the natural pools of our rivers, to cool off and relax in summer.

Mountain and hiking

Walking is one of the best ways to connect with nature and enjoy the landscapes of the Sobrarbe.

Through different kinds of routes: trekking, high mountain, geo-routes and megalithic and cultural routes.

MTB, cycling and running

A land to experience the mountains.

Aínsa and the Sobrarbe are an especially attractive destination for lovers of road and mountain biking, and one of the great reference points for MTB, with an extensive network of routes across the territory.

There are also numerous options for running, with sporting events that bring together hundreds of runners every year (Gran Trail Sobrarbe, Trail de Partara).

Adventure

For those who want to feel the mountains first-hand.

Endless options for canyoning, rafting, climbing, ski mountaineering and snowshoeing. The nearby resorts in the French Pyrenees also offer opportunities for alpine skiing.

Culture and heritage

Traditional architecture closely tied to the land: stone houses, carved doorways, slate roofs and the characteristic chimneys crowned with espantabrujas (witch-scaring stone caps).

Traditions preserved by various folk groups such as the Biello Sobrarbe (Aínsa), the Corro d’es Bailes de San Chuan (San Juan de Plan) or El Palotiau de Boltaña.

Local gastronomy is another of the pleasures of the trip, such as chiretas, local meat grilled over embers, artisan cheeses or local produce.
